In the beginning, it started out as simply an experiment. Then, that experiment was a success. And so was the next one, and the next and the next.. Soon, the American government had heard about these successes and, instead of destroying them, they planned to use these experiments against their enemies in war.
These experiments were simply named Experimentals. They had been enhanced with animal DNA to become something stronger and better than human. They were basically unstoppable.
The Americans won their war. But the price was far too great… The Experimentals turned against their masters and World War III broke out. Three guesses who won that war.
Now, in the year 2043, the world is basically in ruin. The only place safe for humans is the Island of Manhattan. Everywhere else has been destroyed, or inhabited by Experimentals. The remaining humans (aprox. 1,000 people) live in fear and do not dare leave their island.
There are some humans, however, that do not fear the ones that destroyed their world. They want to study them. Well, some of the humans do, whilst others are set on killing them.

The veil between the different worlds has been broken for a very long time. All those creatures and beings that we were told about in stories and myths, in school, or just by our own playful research, really do exist. They are walking among us, right under our noses, concealed to our naked eye. They are in disguise, from the moment they stepped foot in our world, their vessels, their shells, their glamor, they have human appearances here. Our neighbors, our cousins, our step-mothers, our best friends, could be one of these supernatural beings and we would never be able to tell the difference.
Imagine this world: a world where all the supernatural beings and creatures we were ever told about, living among us, right alongside us, behaving exactly like us. That is the world we live in, but we are ignorant.

humans have all been told that supernatural creatures are not real, that the stories they heard as children children were just that: stories. what they don’t realize is that this is wrong. creatures are real, and they are beginning to show themselves in our world. in the small city of romnik, a warlock has come forward demanding equal treatment for his people. but the mayor is having none of it. he would prefer them to go back into the shadows and leave the humans along and ignorant, and he is setting the city up to make life difficult for the supernatural. the tension can only last for so long. will this turn into a fight? what side will you choose? and what happens when the government gets involved in all this?

the plot:

the event:
Cirque de Exotica: The circus takes up the whole field of Romnik, the gates of the cirque stand a two story high, black and ominous. A sign showing the slitted snake eyes of a hooded face, with ‘Cirque de Exotica’ written out in gothic print just below his neck. Tall black, gothic gates were put up around the whole event, which was in the shape of a long rectangle, almost as wide as a whole block and went down for a good mile before your eyes rest on a large red and yellow tent in the very back where the main show is held. Halfway through the gate you can tell it tapers off into a rounded edge, to fit in the rides before you get to the tent. The most odd circus you’ll ever come to see in your life. It’s almost like a festival, a theme park, and a circus rolled into one. Side shows, booths, food, games, etc., all line the sides of the gate, leaving a roads width between for people to walk and mingle as they play. The closer you get to the tent the more eccentric the side shows. Then as the gate tapers off into a huge circle, a good halfway through, you begin seeing rides, from the classic ferris wheel to skyscraper high roller coasters. There’s even a merry-go-round! All these things manned by normal looking people or freaks with fur, feathers, strange eyes, or deformities. There are people dressed in strange exotic outfits, people on stilts covered in feathers handing out beads and feathers and all kinds of things to adorn yourself with. Then standing ten story’s high is the tent, the ominous and illuminated tent where the main event will be held - with the normal tight ropers and the wild animals and the ring leader, and other beasts and creatures they promise will blow your socks off. Everything you could EVER imagine is most likely here. That’s a promise, a guarantee.

hey did you hear all of the eleven doctors met up with harry potter and princess buttercup to go into the matrix to ice skate with that creepy guy across the street from your house? i know you just read that and went “wait, wat?” yeah… that’s kind of normal here, actually. now we don’t really know what happened, but someone tripped over something at the wrong time and now all of time and space is mixed together. this even includes your favorite movies and books. just imagine. anyone who has been made up for anything with the basic intent of media enjoyment. they’re all real. a universe was created for them the moment they were written down on paper and given a face or a description. and now they’re all mixed together. your basic every day life combined with romans, vampires, aliens, little red riding hood, jack sparrow, sookie stackhouse, and big bird all wave at each other while they pass each other on the street. it’s totally normal. and that street could be the grid from tron or 221b baker street. time has no meaning here. tomorrow is still tomorrow, but there are no clocks. that whole concept doesn’t make a difference. all of time is combined so what is the use of it?well there is the plot, but i need one or two more helpers! if you’re interested, just contact maddiesaur or MADS-ASAURUS REX! on the site if you’d like to help out. i just need basic admin duties, but if you have any other specialties, please let me know!
