Best friend, sister, nemesis/potential love interest.

Heya!

I’m Jo and I’m looking for someone(s) to play Toph’s younger sister, her best friend and her nemesis/possibly future (current-ish/past-ish) love interest. (Here’s the clickable link to Toph’s app!

First thing you should know – all of the play bys are completely open. I do have some suggestions for the sister, but if you want to use someone else – that is completely okay with me. If you’re stuck on play bys, I can offer some suggestions but yeah. Just know that you can pick whoever you like because I’m really not fussed with them (my only request for the guy is that he not be played by Justin Bieber, Zac Effron or any of the One Direction Boys). Sorry, but it’s a personal preference thing and yeah. I’ve had bad experiences with those play-bys so it’s really a psychological deal with me ~ don’t ask. Not to say that if you make a character with one of those play by’s I won’t plot with you – because I will – but I just wouldn’t enjoy rp’ing a potentially romancy plot with them, y’know? ~ anyways, I’ll end my rambles there. But yeah. Feel free to choose anyone you like, except for those few exceptions please.

So. Let’s start at the top yeah?

Younger Sister:

If you’ve read Topher’s application, you’ll find out that the two sisters aren’t really sisterly at all. They don’t exactly hate each other, but they just don’t see eye to eye when it comes to many significant issues – one of them being the way they were raised and their parents. Why Toph loved the whole con artist growing up fashion, her sister quite hated it. They share many similar qualities – their deduction skills, intelligence and cleverness, but they use those differently. While Toph is taking the “lowlife”criminal route of their parents, her sister chooses to focus on her studies, education and getting into university. She sees a bright, respectable and legal future ahead of her.

The two sisters haven’t really talked properly or had a “sister-date” in years. Especially, since their first day at Salisbury Academy when they both – according to the other – did something which was over-the-line unforgivable: Toph slapped her sister, and her sister insulted their parents saying that they were better off without them (you can read the details in Toph’s app, the prompt section). So ever since, things have been rocky between them.

But see, here’s the thing. Even though the random student wouldn’t know that Toph and her sister were siblings the two aren’t completely cold toward each other (because, it’s not like they act like sisters in public. And the surname “Moss” isn’t that rare, so most people do just think it’s a coincidence unless they’re told otherwise). Toph’s sister for example knows of Toph’s high tech hacking skills and knows that she’s the one who probably pulled a lot of stunts – like changing the school website into a gay porn site. But she won’t rat her out or anything because Toph is, for better or worse, her sister. And she does love her.

But just because you love someone doesn’t mean you have to like them.

So they have a weird kinda relationship like that. The way I’m thinking is that through some weird and twisted way, Karma actually ends up bringing the sisters back together, fixing their issues at the end of a very long year ~ maybe. We’ll see how things turn out. But I can see them first being perhaps put against each other by Karma, and then them ‘working together’ and fixing their relationship and stuff? Just a thought and suggestion, and the plot is not completely closed off and such. So if you’re interested, lets discuss, let some things go with the flow and create spontaneous plots (‘cause lets face it, those are awesome!). And as to how it all turns up? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. ^^

Personality and all that is pretty open, but just do keep in mind that some of the most important things that makes her her and which make her and her sister have issues is the fact that her morals and opinions about her childhood, parents and future differe from Toph’s. She’s more studious and ambitious, but her personality doesn’t have to and shouldn’t really end with that. Take what I’ve said and go creative with her, really! (and personally I see her as a Twain, but feel free to make her a student of another House (just not Poe, please). She can be a junior or a senior, either is fine by me. ^^ I imagine with her studious nature she could have skipped a grade or two in her lifetime, so if you want they can be classmates. :] as for age, she can be either 16 or 17. :]

Face suggestions: so, as I said, these are completely open, but I’d love it if you picked someone who could pass for Juno Temple’s younger sister. Pick however you like, and if you can’t think of any faces, here are some of my thoughts: Maddie Hasson, Britt Robertson, AJ Michalka?

The Best Friend:

She is featured in the prompt section of Toph’s app! I gave her the name of “Cristina” but go ahead and change that if you want. ^^ The only things you need to know about Cristina are these:

- she’s the resident badass punk chick (as dubbed by Toph) who is also the illegal school radio host. So she’d probably have her own persona. If you want, that may be her only secret ~ but if it is just remember to expand on it (i.e. why did she start it, what is it that she does with the radio show, why doesn’t she tell that news to everybody, and why is the radio considered “illegal” by the faculty? etc, etc). But that can be only one of her secrets, so feel free to have more. Heck, Toph has like half a dozen secrets or more.

- she also hates Rhys Archibald (Toph’s nemesis, whom I’ll talk about in a moment) ~ but why does she hate him? In my head-canon I thought that perhaps Rhys is Cristina’s half-brother, except that one or the other (or both) don’t know about it (or, the opposite, they both know it?) but because the affair was scandallous, Cristina’s mum gets hush money and if the news gets let out it’ll be considered slander or something? Hey, feel free to get creative, this was just my thought, but you can come up with something else. ^^ Or, if you want, we can discuss more plot ideas together? :]

- she would have been a sophomore at the same time that Toph joined the school. She would have been there since Freshman year. In my headcanon, she is a Poe. And I’d prefer it if they were in the same House but if you really, really want to make her from a different house, that’d be okay too.

- personality, history, reason for being in Salisbury Academy and all that jazz is up to you. :]

- so go and get creative! ^^

The Nemesis/Love Interest:

Hokay. Last request. So this is for the nemesis/love interest. You may have already guessed it from reading Toph’s app and the prompt section - it’s Rhys Archibald (feel free to pick a different name/first name, but if you do change the surname please pick a name which sounds artistocratic/old money’esque, if you know what I mean?)

Now, these two started off on the wrong foot. And for the past two years they’ve gotten under each other’s skin. But y’know the saying - there’s a thin line between love and hate. And that’s something I imagine for them. Lots of angry, angry fights and then possibly because they got locked into a small closet and got into each other’s faces and it was really stuffy in that closet that it got ~ lusty. Nothing too sexual going on there at first ~ just lots of heavy making-out.

And then when they got out and they just mutually/wordlessly decided that the moment in the closet never happened. And then they just kept fighting/kept pulling stunts on each other trying to get the other into trouble until they were finally both put into a long and painful punishment known as Saturday detention. For two months. So being stuck in Saturday detention for eight weeks really got the ball rolling. At first, yeah, they just kept arguying and trying to get the other into more trouble but then the impossible happened ~ they started having fun. Whether it was because they started pulling pranks on other people, making fun of the supervising teacher, etc, etc, they just started liking each other. And bam, that’s when things began changing.

But since they were from the two houses who hated each other the most ~ Poe and Twain ~ their newly found… whatever… doesn’t quite work out. So they decide to be friends/whatever you want to call it in secret. And then things just start growing from there. But there’s still a lot of conflict and issues there. Even though they’d start some kind of secret relationship, I can see them still having a lot of fights and issues. Like, maybe Rhys decides he needs to openly date another Twain so that his thing with Toph doesn’t get out in the open? But that doesn’t go well with Toph so she retaliates and does the same thing?

But anyways ~ yes. That’s a main, general idea for you. But, we can discuss more versions of this, or of another plot. I’m really open to suggestions, thoughts and ideas. I’m certainly not a plot-dictator. So if you have other ideas - throw them at me. And they don’t have to be finals. We can just thread them and see how it goes. :]

Personality is openish, his general vibe is described up there ~ he can be quite an arrogant jerk and a ladiesman as you can tell, so keep that in mind. And I’d like you to go deep into his character, and not just a surfice layer, if you get what I mean? History, why he’s in Salisbury Academy, why his family is wealthy, his family life, his secrets and such are open to you.

Oh, and please note that at this moment in time August/September of 2012, they’re still enemies who don’t have a romantic thought about the other at all. So all that what would happen wouldn’t be wayy late in November/December/January, yeah?

Play-by, as I said, is up to you. He should be a senior. He should be a Twain. But everything else is open.

*EDIT* I’ve been kinda thinking lately that I’d kinda want them to get something going between them, but then it just doesn’t work out because they end up just making each other miserable and angry all the time? and that neither of them are really capable to change for the other or make it work? But IDK, we can figure it all out! xD Just throwing thoughts out there and please, you do the same! I love discussing plots and I’m really flexible with them. :]
