I’m a little torn on the FC/character age issue. On one hand, I don’t want, for example, Clint Eastwood (as he appears in Gran Torino) used as a 23-year-old, but the anon was right; some people don’t look their age. Like Pauley Perrette, for example, is almost 40 (somewhere in there) but looks way younger (I think, anyway.)

in my opinion, the ages matching the face claim should either be close or younger than what the play by really is. my biggest pet peeve is when someone wants to use miley cyrus, selena gomez, etc. and age them as 21+ years old. i understand that they are close to that age in real life, but they just don’t look it! aging down? great. aging up? terrible.

It’s hard when you are a fan of someone and know what their real age is to see them being portrayed as so much younger. Even with appropriate pictures it is difficult to get past that mentality of no, they are so much older. It is about perception and the way the mind wants to acknowledge someone as. Most people find it annoying or bothersome is all.

I can understand admins who want people to use age appropriate face claims. I’ve seen Olivia Wilde used for fourteen/fifteen year olds before and that skeeves me out. But, it should be a moot point. Sites have different rules based on the preferences of the staff. You might not agree with all of their rules, but they did work to put the entire site together for you, they are the ones running the show so that you have a forum to roleplay on, and their rules need to be respected.
