‘Lady Di,’ Frannie affectionately calls her, but her name is entirely up to you: this is a fairly open request for Frannie’s girlfriend of twelve years, who I will refer to as Diana for the sake of convenience. Frannie and Diana meet in the summer of 1995 in Frannie’s native France, in Nantes; Diana is on vacation with her family, and comes across Frannie early on in the summer. The two girls expose each other to their respective cultures and a friendship is born, quickly blossoming into a romance; think ‘Romeo and Juliet’ - the two girls even fuck, oh my! - without the death and all the despair. Diana leaves France and the two try to keep close, but eventually lose touch. It is only five or so years later, that Diana writes Fran again, inviting her to come to the States, where Frannie decides to go to school. With the help of her visa, Fran is permitted entry into the country and is educated: not just in the academic sense but in the cultural. She grows to love America and all it offers, but most importantly, she loves Diana. Fran graduates the UIC, foolishly allows her visa to expire and does nothing to prolong her technical legal status; around this time Fran begins working at St. Bart’s, working alongside her mentor in the pathology department, who understands Frannie’s situation and agrees to keep her illegal status under wraps. Diana and Fran have officially gone from simple girlfriends to life partners; ‘domesticity’ becomes key here, for the two women are now fully grown and fully mature. They have talked about going to Iowa or New York to marry - but it’s all too risky. Fran’s chance of earning citizenship is troubled by her failure to apply for and act on it sooner, and she figures she can keep pushing her luck. Diana is concerned for her partner, and only resents Fran for her habits in procrastination. Regardless, the two women love each other, and will continue to do so, no matter what. The playby is entirely open (although pictured here is Kirsten Dunst with Frannie’s PB, Lizzy Caplan), but I only ask that you keep her age around ~30-32, and choose someone who looks the part.
